Question by : Is this ok writing for a 13 year old?
I just thought of this right now. I haven’t even edited it or anything. Just wrote and wrote and this is what I came up with. Please tell me what you think.

I will never, ever forgive my father’s old company. How could they fire him like that? Now, we’re poor and have to leave our beautiful house for a crappy place in California where I have to go to public schools. A place with lazy teachers and students involved in gangs and having sex under the stairs during lunch, or at least that’s what I saw in movies. I’ll have to leave all my friends and our daily discussions of the new trends and diets. I’ll have to start all over and try to be popular again! It took so long for me to gain alpha status at my private school, who knows what they’ll do in public school? Je déteste ce!
Tomorrow will be my first day at Hill Range High School. I still haven’t picked out an outfit yet. WAIT! I totally forgot about the white cropped cardigan I bought before my family went broke. I can match it with this prada mini skirt and tuck my light pink flowy top in it. And… these platinum tiffany bangles would totally pull it all together. The gladiator sandals I got for Easter would totally complete the look. I saw my reflection in the mirror of my new bathroom. The pink really complimented my chocolate curls and big brown eyes. Fashion was the only thing close to my heart these days, and I can’t even shop anymore since my dad cut off my credit card to save money.
I slipped into my silk pajamas and lay down on my queen sized bed. The spring mattress will do my back really bad in the morning, but it’s better than the floor, I guess. I gazed at my ceiling and softly chanted, “I am Sheri Boyd. I am confident, popular, and beautiful. I am perfect in every way and people will love me at Hill Range High School.”
The next morning, I got on a school bus for the first time in my life. It was absolutely horrid. There was no mini-fridge, people were jumping around and sweating all over each other, the bus-driver smelled like cigarettes, and the bumpy road made me spill my coffee on my knee. Thank God it didn’t touch my prada mini, but I will sue if it happens again. It was so strange seeing girls in cheap shirts, skinny jeans, 10 dollar jewelry, and shoes from Payless. I looked like a princess next to these casual girls. Everyone was staring at me and my designer clothes. I thought they would think I was so cool, but I was wrong.
I heard a guy call me a label whore. This is so not true! I pay for quality, not name! An Abercrombie wearing senior smirked at me and called me spoiled little Sophomore. It was dreadful being called names when I would have been praised at my old school. I would never let this show, of course, and I smiled the smile of a model and gracefully stepped out of the bus when we arrived at the school. I could not believe my eyes. There were knockoff bags everywhere in the arms of girls with terrible hair and clown-like makeup. I almost fainted right there.
Just then, a guy with shaggy black hair and green eyes yelled, “heads up!” I lifted my head up and a football smacked me in the face. He was really cute and picked me up and carried me to the nurse. My shirt and cardigan were being terribly wrinkled, but I could not look away from his green eyes. He was so beautiful. Behind the board shorts and Neff T-shirt, he had model potential. He set me down on the nurse’s bed.
“I’m so sorry about that. I’m Derek. An uncoordinated dork,” he joked.
“I think I’ll be okay. My name is Sheri. Sheri Boyd,” I said while repressing a giggle.
“I haven’t seen you around school. You’re really pretty. You new here?”
“Yeah. Just moved here from upstate New York.”
“Oh, fancy, huh?” Derek chuckled. “I can tell you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth?”
I blushed a deep red. “Umm… kind of. Is that wrong? People here seem to hate me for it.”
“Nah. They’re just jealous. I don’t have anything against rich people, though. I admire them for their ability to look amazing while staying intelligent and charming,” he winked.
I blushed even harder. He was SOOO cute! “You know, it’s not like I’m a socialite from ‘Gossip Girl’ or anything.”
Derek smiled a crooked smile. “I have to go. Bell rings in one minute. Tell the nurse Derek hit you with a football. She’ll understand.”
I giggled at the thought of dozens of girls lined up with bruises on their heads because of Derek. “Okay. Thank you. See you around.”
Derek dashed away to his first period classroom. My heartrate slowed down and I lay there until the nurse came in and woke me from my nap.

I am assuming & hoping Americans are still intelligent, so you will know the facts.
- The government have the legal right to supply their own cash and control the value but they go to private banks who give them the money at interest, which YOU as a tax payer is paying for.

My point is… the government doesn’t need your cash because they can coin their own money legally and use it to pay the interest on their loan OR they could just start supplying their own money their country ……..

This is the worlds largest ponzi scheme.

So is this a good reason to label Ron Paul a loon?

when we first met nothing of it. then she started staying at my house. then one day we messed around and she left. she was scared because we worked together. this went on for about a week. now during all of this time she was telling me about how she has slept with a married man while on tour, while she had a boyfriend. her boyfriend was about 30 years older than her. she was telling me how she could never be faithful and how she used people to help her to get to the next step career wise. she told me she got a tattoo and slept with the artist. he had a girlfriend, too. she told me how she was on a major record label, but had asked to leave the label because of issues with her and a married guy. ( i can’t tell you who… you know of him for sure) then she told me she was using the tattoo guy for free tattoos. then all of a sudden i told her i was having feeling for her and she told me the same. but, all of a sudden i just couldn’t stop telling her how messed up it was how she used all these people. i mean i really went off about it. it was just so messed up to me. then one day she stop talking to me for about a month. then she asked me to pick her up from the airport from her tour. i did. we started hanging out again and those feelings rushed back. we messed around a little, but she told me she never had feelings for me and was not attractive to me. then she ending up moving in with me. we slept in the same bed. we messed around. we never slept together or kissed at this time. then one day she told me she didn’t have feelings for me again and liked this new guy. he gave her free haircuts. he liked her, too. he was married. i was pretty pist at her for the fact he was married and had kids. but to her it was o.k. i know i should of kept my mouth shut, but i didn’t. we still messed around though. then one day i told her if she was going to leave and go see him that i could no longer be her friend. it was to messed up and i had feelings for her. she screamed at me and told me she’d never be my girlfriend. then she left and came back a few hours later. she apologized and so did i. that night we drank and kissed for our first time. she said it was the best kiss she ever had. i was shocked by the power of it, too. then she started to have feelings for me. then about a week later she didn’t. then the next day she did. back and forth. back and forth. then she left on tour. i flew to nyc to work with her and some other people. we go into a huge fight. everyone thought we were together and it pissed her off. then she left on her tour from nyc. we weren’t talking. when she came back on my birthday… she missed me. she took me to dinner, but before we got there we hugged and had a passionate kiss. it was a great night until we got to the apartment we were staying at. there she told me she didn’t want to have sex because she just had sex with another guy whom she was in love with. but, she was confused because of how well our day went together. i was pissed, so we fought again. then we flew home to california. i decided to ignore everything she did with me. then she really started to fall for me, but she was also confused about two other guys. we became very close for about a month. we didn’t drink. it was me and her. then the day before she left i went with her to a private show. we laid in bed in our hotel room and talked. then later after her show we went to our room. she went to the bath and came out, walked up to me, and had no clothes on. we really got in to it, but i stopped it. she said i’m thinking about telling everyone that we’re dating. i said that’s great, but things will change when you leave on tour again with the other guy you like. she said i wish you didn’t say that because i’m confused as if i’m in love with you. we messed around again, but didn’t have sex. i have some great will power. plus, i wanted it to be right with her. this is were it gets weird. she told me that she would sleep with her bother if she had one. then she told me that if we had kids she’d sleep with them, too. she was serious. she told me she was really messed up. i didn’t know what to think. then the next morning she left. before that though she promised me that she wouldn’t sleep with this guy. though she wasn’t my girlfriend… very close though. about a week later she called me telling me how much she wanted me to be there with her and go on tour with her. i wanted to, but i didn’t. one night i was drinking and she called. i asked her if she slept with that guy. she said maybe. she was scared. then she said she was confused about me this other guy and the one she slept with. i was bummed again. my fault though. then we fought for about two months. she was confused. and i was always asking about us. only when i was drinking though. i don’t drink that much, but when i did i would say some messed up things like ” let me guess you’re sleeping with him again” it’s not that i wanted to say that it’s just she was so back and forth w

Hi all,

I was having a conversation with my hairdresser this afternoon about Haute couture fashion houses. Wikipedia defines Haute couture as follows…

Haute couture (French for “high sewing” or “high dressmaking”; pronounced [o?t kuty?]) refers to the creation of exclusive custom-fitted clothing. Haute couture is made to order for a specific customer, and it is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finish, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques.

Now my hairdresser tells me that he has seen many hair design companies using the term ‘couture hair’ or ‘couture hair design’

However wikipedia states…

In France, the term haute couture is protected by law and is defined by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris based in Paris, France. Their rules state that only “those companies mentioned on the list drawn up each year by a commission domiciled at the Ministry for Industry are entitled to avail themselves” of the label haute couture. The criteria for haute couture were established in 1945 and updated in 1992.

To earn the right to call itself a couture house and to use the term haute couture in its advertising and any other way, members of the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture must follow these rules:

* Design made-to-order for private clients, with one or more fittings.
* Have a workshop (atelier) in Paris that employs at least fifteen people full-time.
* Each season (i.e., twice a year), present a collection to the Paris press, comprising at least thirty-five runs/exits with outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear.

It sounds to me that ‘Haute couture’ by definition is directly related to sewing & dressmaking. So how could you possibly have ‘couture hair’?

From the research I have done since I have gotten home, these hairdressers never use the full term ‘Haute couture’, yet they use the term ‘couture’ all over the place.

Now do you think that it is the full term ‘Haute couture’ that is protected by french law? If so ‘couture’ on it’s own would be legal.

However if the translation above is correct ‘couture’ directly translates as sewing. (‘Haute couture’ = high sewing).

So that wouldn’t make any sense?? lol You can’t have ’sewing hair’

Confusing right? Can anyone offer me an explanation of this please?

Are all of these other companies just misusing the term couture to create an exclusive image for themselves, hoping that no one will notice that it doesn’t make sense?

If anyone could help me figure this out I’d appreciate it.
Could people just keep the stupid answers to themselves please?

I am asking because I am training to become a fashion photographer & I need to know these things.
