Private label rights content is one of the hottest themes among online marketers (PLR). People “in the know” in the industry call it by its abbreviated moniker… PLR! But private label rights meaning is not something that everyone understands. This article will change that. Read on!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with PLR, you may be wondering what it is, therefore I’ve decided to go into great depth about it. We’ll start with a quick and simple explanation.
In a nutshell, private label rights (PLR) refers to content and/or items that you can license to use in your own business. You can utilize the content/products that you purchase licensing for in a variety of ways in your business. From using them in your marketing to repurposing them to create money, there’s a lot you can do with them. This is an article from OnlineBusinessPost.com that considers Making Money with Reseller PLR. Not going to help you much if you don’t know what reseller PLR is, so let’s go!
Private label rights (PLR) are a form of copyright. The author of the work retains most rights, but sells some or all exclusive distribution rights to the work to another party. This allows the buyer to publish and distribute the work under their own name and branding.
Typically, PLR products are sold in a bundle with reseller or master reseller rights. This allows the buyer to sell the product themselves, as well as allow others to do the same. This can be a lucrative business opportunity, as it allows you to build an online business quickly and easily.
It is important to note that PLR products are not typically unique – they are often rehashes of existing content. However, if you’re looking for a quick way to get started in online marketing, PLR products can be a great option.
Let me offer you a few examples to delve a little deeper…

Example 1:
You purchase a private label rights licence for a collection of vegetarian lifestyle articles. If you’re in this industry, you might use these articles as material for your site.
Example 2:
You purchase the private label rights to an ebook on how to make your own solar panels. You can take that ebook, make as many changes as you want, personalise it, and sell it as your own product.
Example 3:
You purchase a private label rights licence to a bundle of social media graphics, customise them with your branding, and post them to your social media channels to promote your business, get new followers, and so on.
Now, those are only three examples; I could give you hundreds more, but they should give you a good concept of what private label rights are and how you can secure them for a wide range of content and products.
Let’s look at some of the different sorts of content and items that you can gain private label rights to.
Articles/Blog Posts

This is the most common sort of PLR content found and used, although it may be used in a variety of ways. As content for your website or other sites on the Internet, in developed items, in the creation of movies, and the list goes on and on.
Ebooks are one of my favourite forms of PLR to buy because I can quickly and simply have something I can sell as my own product with very little effort. You may, of course, break them up and utilise them as website content, extras, lead generators, and so on.
Videos
You can usually acquire videos as part of a course, but with more content providers on the scene, you can also get promotional films, videos for social media, and a variety of other types that can be utilised in a variety of ways.
There are a few different sorts of content/products for which private label rights are available, but they are harder to come by and only cover a small number of niches.
Emails

Emails are usually sold as part of a “package” and are tailored to a specific niche or email marketing strategy. For example, I recently purchased a PLR onboarding sequence email package. I’ve purchased email bundles in the past to utilize as promotional tools for various products.
Graphics
There are a plethora of graphics to choose from. PLR graphics for social media, graphics for sales pages, graphics for printables, and so on are all available.
Yes, There is Software
There are software providers who will offer you private label rights to their software so that you can make your own software products with it. You can either rename it and sell it, or you can add functions to it (or hire a coder) and sell it, or you can do whatever other promotional thing you want with it.
Websites
When you find them, they’re fantastic! There are various people who construct full content-rich websites, membership sites, and other types of websites and then sell the private label rights to them. If/when you can find them, they are true gold!
Tip

To see additional examples of each form of content/product, go to Google and search for the words PLR + each of the content/product types I’ve described.
I’m sure I left a few sorts of content/products off the list, but it should give you a good idea of what you can gain private label rights to and use in your business. This will save you a great deal of time and money!
Now that you know all of this, make sure you read the license file before you do anything with the private label rights you purchased. The terms of everyone’s licenses are varied. There is no such thing as a universal license, so make sure you understand what is and isn’t permitted before diving in and using something for which you purchased private label rights.
It’s also possible to check the license before making a purchase. The rights you receive or the full license are usually listed on the website where you purchase, but if not, you can always contact the owner and inquire. Just make sure you know what you’re doing before you start to avoid future problems and perhaps legal action.
